Bilt-Hamber Trace-less: Revolution or Hype?

A new glass cleaner on the market that promises to clean everything better, faster, and without residue? That sounds almost too good to be true! The Bilt Hamber Trace-less is presented as the new standard for streak-free glass cleaning. But is this product really that revolutionary? To find out, we've compared Trace-less with two other popular glass cleaners: Dodo Juice Clearly Menthol and GYEON Q²M Glass. Which of the three comes out on top in the test? Let's take a closer look!
Check out the video below on YouTube about the glass cleaners!
What does Trace-less promise?
Bilt Hamber claims that their Trace-less works better, faster, and without residue, thanks to a 'super wetting agent.' This might sound like a marketing trick, but the idea is that the cleaner adheres so well that you need less product. The droplet is supposed to spread flatter on the glass, leaving no marks behind.
But does it really work that way? The product promises to live up to its name 'trace-less' by leaving no streaks or stains. Sounds good, right?
The Test Setup
To make a fair comparison, we tested all three glass cleaners on the same rear window, divided into three equal sections. This allowed us to see how each product performed under the same conditions.
For all tests, we used the Monello Vetro Superiore glass towel, ensuring there was no difference in the cloth used. We sprayed the products onto the towel, not directly onto the glass, to avoid influencing the results.

The results:
Bilt Hamber Trace-less
When applying Trace-less, it was immediately noticeable that the liquid was easy to distribute. A major plus is that the product evaporates quickly, so you can instantly see if any streaks remain.
During the wiping process, we did notice that it felt a bit tougher to wipe off. It also has a strong smell, but fortunately, the manufacturer has stated that this will be adjusted in the future. The result? The glass was clean, with no residue left behind. In short, it does what it promises: streak-free cleaning.
Dodo Juice Clearly Menthol
Dodo Juice Clearly Menthol is already a well-established name and performed as expected. When using it, we immediately noticed that the liquid stayed on the glass a bit longer before evaporating. This can be beneficial on warmer days when you don't want the cleaner to evaporate too quickly. The product also left a smoother feel than the Trace-less, which made wiping much easier. The menthol scent was pleasant, and just like with Trace-less, the product left no residue behind.
GYEON Q²M Glass
GYEON Q²M Glass clearly stood out from the other two. When applied, the surface felt the smoothest of all, allowing the cloth to glide effortlessly over the glass. The GYEON cleaner is the slowest to dry, giving you more time to distribute the product evenly. This can be useful for larger surfaces or if you work at a slightly slower pace. Like the other products, this cleaner also provided a streak-free result.

Conclusion of the Test
All three glass cleaners perform excellently and leave no residue behind. The differences mainly lie in ease of use and the speed at which they evaporate.
Bilt-Hamber Trace-less does what it promises, but it’s not necessarily significantly better than the competition. Dodo Juice Clearly Menthol and GYEON Q²M Glass remain excellent choices, with GYEON standing out for its smooth finish.
The choice between these three mainly comes down to personal preference and conditions, such as the temperature when cleaning. To get your windows streak-free, technique might be even more important than the glass cleaner used. If you use the wrong technique, incorrect or dirty cloths, or too much or too little product, even the most impressive glass cleaner will still leave streaks.
We hope this blog has helped guide you in choosing the right glass cleaner for your preferences and situation, because then you too will become a true CleanRider.
