Masking Scratches Without Polishing

Not entirely sure about polishing, but still want to get rid of those annoying scratches on your car? Then there's good news! With a glaze, like Black Hole from Poorboy's World, you can give your car's paint a deep gloss and mask unsightly wash scratches, without any polishing experience.
Glazes fill in the scratches, making them less visible, without actually polishing them away. In this blog, we'll explain, how easy it is to apply this product, both by hand and with a machine. You don't need to be a professional detailer to make your car look like new again, and all that without polishing!

The test
In this example, Johan and Tim worked on an Audi A4 Allroad with black paint. The car has 64,000 kilometers on the clock and has regularly gone through the car wash, which is visible from the wash scratches (also known as swirls). Especially when the sun shines on the paint, these scratches become very noticeable. With Poorboy's Black Hole, Johan and Tim show how the paint becomes much deeper and shinier.

Applying Poorboy's Black Hole
You can apply Black Hole both by hand and with a machine. Johan starts with the hood, applying it by hand. As he says: "A piece of cake, two fingers in your nose!"
Manual Application
All you need is an applicator pad, a microfiber cloth, and some patience. First, shake the bottle well. Apply two pea-sized drops onto the pad. Apply with circular motions (you’ll notice it leaves a petroleum jelly-like haze). Then go over it with overlapping, straight motions until the shine starts to come back.
The glaze spreads easily and only needs to sit for five minutes before you can wipe it off with minimal effort. Even if you leave the product on longer, like for half an hour, it remains easy to remove. So you can go around your entire car and, when you're done, start wiping it off. This makes Black Hole ideal for beginners. Wipe off the glaze with a soft microfiber cloth.

Applying with a Dual Action Machine
Use a soft finishing pad, which has no abrasive action, such as one from Monello, and apply Black Hole at a low speed. The goal is simply to distribute it on a low setting (1 or 2); there’s no need to apply pressure or work slowly as you would with polishing.
Apply a few dots onto a dry pad, without first moistening it with a detail spray. Be careful not to let the cord slide across your paint; it should go over your shoulder! Poorboy’s advises continuing until it starts to shine again. Wipe off with a clean microfiber cloth, like the Peluche Verde.
Flip the pad and continue with the short nap. The long nap is mainly useful for picking up excess residue. The short nap is for polishing everything to a high gloss. And good news for those who want to work outside: even in the sun, Black Hole can still be applied and wiped off perfectly.

Results that Impress
The difference is quickly noticeable. One side of the car is treated with Black Hole, and the other is not. While the untreated side shows a dull, grayish haze and the swirls are still clearly visible, the treated side is deep black again, and the scratches are much less noticeable. As Johan beautifully puts it: "The paint becomes five shades deeper, and the car gets a real wet look." Although Black Hole isn't a magic solution that makes all scratches disappear, it does provide a noticeable improvement, even on a car with many car wash scratches.

A Glaze is Ideal for Quick Results
With Poorboy's Black Hole, you can easily and without polishing give your car a deep shine and mask annoying wash scratches. Whether you apply it by hand or with a machine, the result is impressive, and the paint looks as good as new. It’s perfect for anyone who wants the effect of a polished car quickly but doesn’t have the experience or equipment to polish it themselves.
We hope this blog has given you a good impression of how Black Hole works, so you can also take advantage of the benefits of a glaze and become a true CleanRider!
