What is GYEON EcoWash?

GYEON EcoWash is a so-called waterless or rinseless wash, meaning you don’t need running water. This is perfect for situations where you don’t have access to a hose.

Thanks to the unique composition of EcoWash, you can easily loosen and wipe away dirt and dust without damaging your car’s paint.

In addition to GYEON EcoWash, there are also similar products such as Optimum No Rinse and P&S Absolute, which work in the same way: you mix a small amount of the product with water in a bucket or spray bottle, and you’re ready to wash.

Why Choose Waterless Washing?

Waterless washing is not only a lifesaver for those without access to running water but also for those who are environmentally conscious. A traditional car wash consumes a lot of water—on average, 100 to 150 liters per wash! It also reduces the risk of water damage and limescale, which is especially important for people in areas with hard water.

Two Methods: Rinseless and Waterless

There are two ways to wash your car without running water. The first method is the rinseless wash, where you use a bucket of water and the product to soak your towels. This method is ideal for heavier contamination.

The second method is the waterless wash, where you mix the product in a spray bottle and spray it directly onto the car. This is convenient for light contamination or as a quick detailer.

For a thorough clean, we recommend the bucket method, especially if the car hasn’t been washed for a while.

The Proper Use of Towels

An essential part of waterless washing is using the right towels. We use towels with BOA fibers or longer, very soft fibers like the GYEON SoftWipe EVO, Eagle Edgeless from The Rag Company, or the Monello Pelo Lungo towel, which is slightly larger.

These towels can hold a lot of water and are ideal for safely cleaning your car. However, it's important to use multiple towels depending on the dirtiness of your car. Plan for about six to twelve towels per wash, leaning more towards twelve towels for heavier dirt.

Step-by-step: Getting Started

With a Spray Bottle:

  1. Preparation: Make sure your car is not extremely dirty. EcoWash works best on lightly dusty cars, not on heavily muddy or sand-covered vehicles.
  2. Spray the product: Generously spray GYEON EcoWash on a panel of your car. Let the product sit for a moment to loosen the dirt more easily. Use enough product to prevent spreading dirt over your paint.
  3. Wipe with microfiber towel: Gently wipe the panel with a clean microfiber towel. Work in straight lines and avoid circular motions to reduce friction and prevent scratches. Flip your towel after each pass to use a clean section. Once you notice a towel becoming saturated with dirt, switch it out for a clean one.
  4. Repeat per panel: Work panel by panel. If you don't, the rest will dry up and it will be much harder to get a streak-free finish afterward.
  5. After washing – dry and protect: Optionally, you can apply a protective wax or spray after washing for a long-lasting shine. Although optional, this helps keep your car cleaner for longer.

With a Bucket:

  1. Mixing: Mix 50 milliliters of GYEON EcoWash in a bucket with twelve liters of water and a measuring scale, for example, from Monello. This is enough to thoroughly wash your car. Use a measuring cup to measure the correct amount of product, such as the flexible silicone measuring cup from Dope Fibers.
  2. Soaking: Let your towels soak in the bucket for a few minutes so they absorb moisture well. Use this time for a cup of coffee, just like Dennis and Tim did!
  3. Washing: Work (as usual) from top to bottom, from the least dirty areas to the most dirty ones. Use each side of the towel only once and do not wring the towels too hard. The BOA fibers hold a lot of water, so you can easily wipe over the surface without applying much pressure. It’s important not to put your towel back into the bucket. Keep it separate.
  4. Drying: After washing, dry your car with a clean towel. For example, use the Monello Doppino Piccolo drying towel. Avoid applying too much pressure and let the towel do the work. If a haze remains, wait until the panel is dry and then wipe it again.

What Are the Benefits of GYEON EcoWash?

GYEON EcoWash not only offers a water-saving solution but also ensures a quick and easy wash, whenever and wherever you want.

Other benefits include:

  • Environmentally friendly: No liters of water are flushed down the drain.
  • Convenient for the city: Especially if you live in an urban area without an outdoor tap.
  • Safe for the paint: The special formula prevents dirt from rubbing into the paint.
  • Usable anywhere, anytime: Perfect for events, on the go, or just in your own garage.

Handy Tips from the Experts

  • Use enough product: Is your car very dirty? Add some extra product. For heavier dirt, we recommend adding 30 milliliters of extra EcoWash to the bucket. This ensures the product works better and reduces the risk of scratches.
  • Work with multiple towels: It's a good idea to use a clean microfiber towel for each panel. Replace towels regularly, especially with a dirtier car.
  • Not in direct sunlight: Just like with regular car wash products, it’s advisable not to use GYEON EcoWash on warm surfaces, so avoid direct sunlight to prevent the product from drying too quickly.
  • Sensitive surfaces: For sensitive surfaces, such as black trim, it’s wise to first apply the product with a spray before using the towel. This gives the product more time to work, further reducing the chance of scratches.
  • Be cautious with very delicate paint: You risk tiny micro-scratches, and that’s certainly not the goal.
  • Windows and license plates: You can clean windows as well, but for license plates, it’s a good idea to use a separate towel, especially if they have raised letters. It gives a wonderfully clean feeling!

You Can Now Wash Without Running Water

Washing without running water is not only convenient but also completely safe for your paint when using the right technique and products. The key is to use enough towels, work carefully, and mix products accurately. Whether you’re camping, living in an apartment, or just need to quickly clean your car before a meeting, with GYEON EcoWash and the right towels, you’re good to go.

Hopefully, now you can also wash your car without running water when needed, and become a true CleanRider yourself!
